Kids!

A couple of days ago I went to see my doctor about my knee issues. She was selling those little rubber braclets to help raise money for a local child with cancer. I purchased two of them and then picked Dominic up from school so we could go to Bible study. I exit Bible study to find them both hanging from the chandelier (the bands, not the kids). This light is super high up and impossible for me to touch. So tomorrow we will have tie dyed arm bands in our foyer chandelier at church.

It's days like that that I roll my eyes and say "KIDS!"

Today was one of those days that I laughed at them the entire time. Here is why -

As the kids were running outside to play I asked kitty if he wanted to go out too. Caitlin, in a shocked voice "You can't let him outside. He'll get moles."
"What?!"
"Oh, uhm, are moles big?"
"Yes, they are like mice."
"Oh, then I guess I meant fleas."

Overheard from the other room.
Dominic - "I think I want to have a twin brother. No wait! I want to be triplets."
Caitlin - "Okay. I'd like lots of brothers. Let's go tell mom."
Dominic - "Okay, sure!"

Mr. Green

Dominic's teacher had a birthday today. She received a balloon bouquet from a family member and was sweet enough to send Mr. Green home with us.

He has been great. He's kept two children very entertained and one mom very amused.
I love how he's looking down at Caitlin.

Book Fair

Every year we have a Scholastic Book Fair in February. And each year a goal is set for the amount of sales we need to get the books on the school wishlist.

If we reach the goal something fun is done to one of the teachers at a party later.
This year the students chose to initiate Mrs. Janzen since she was the newest teacher.
The students covered her in whipped cream. She was such a great sport about it.

Getting all ready for the whipped cream.
I thought it amusing that one of her daughters was the first one in line to spray her.
Dominic has been so excited about this.

The things we will do for education. =)
After they had run out of whipped cream they got together for a group picture.
When she got up she started chasing the kids.

Thank you Mrs. Janzen. You are an amazing sport.
And in the words of one of the students - "You are a real teacher now!"

Caitlin cuteness

I found this survey online and thought I'd try it out on Caitlin.

We actually went in public with her like this. =)
At least her clothes matched. Earlier this week we had pink pants, purple shoes, yellow hair clips, and a bright red shirt. It was eye catching for sure.

Randomness

Friends over to watch the Super Bowl.
Caitlin sat down while we were shopping and asked me to take her picture.
Dominic reading a book in the car while we waited for something.
Caitlin, somehow, got to the restaurant with only one hair clip.
This was our solution.

Snow Day

Our county calls snow days for EVERYTHING! So we've had several snow days this year without a hint of snow. So when the kids woke up one morning to actually find snow they were ecstatic.

Caitlin put her coat and hat on over her pjs and was ready to go out.
We let her go out for a few minutes and then called her in to put on her snow suit and boots.
Dominic's snow suit said 6/7 so I thought it would for sure still fit him this year.
Clearly not long enough.
 Attempting snow angels
It melted rather quickly once the sun came out, but it was fun while it lasted.
