Big Girl

Caitlin has been growing quite a bit recently. So we told her after the holidays and all of our company left, we would exchange her bed for a big girl bed.

It was bittersweet for us as parents. Caitlin was in heaven though.
I had given her Lalaloopsy sheets for Christmas and she could hardly wait to put them on.
She looked so tiny in that huge bed. But I'm guessing she'll fit soon enough.

Big girl bed

Caitlin did so well sleeping on the camping trip that Jon
suggested that she might be ready to try her toddler bed again.
We had tried previously and she wouldn't stay in the bed.
So we put her back in her crib since she hadn't tried once to get out if it.

We put her in her bed on Sunday night and she's slept there for three nights and as many naps with no problems. She seems really excited to be sleeping in her big girl bed. And unlike her brother hasn't asked to go back to the crib at all. Today she came out of her room a few minutes after I'd put her down for her nap. Once I put her back in her bed again she stayed.
It's also amazing how this has changed her after nap attitude. She would call for me to come get her as soon as she was awake enough to yell for me. Then she'd cling to me and whimper if I put her down for 30 minutes to an hour. But she has to wake up enough to crawl out of the bed and come open the door.
Then she stands at the door and calls to me.
"Mom, I awake now!"
She's wide awake and ready to finish the day. We haven't had a whimper or whine at all.
It's wonderful. And today she asked several times to go potty.
So maybe we can start again on that this summer.

Kids stuff

Caitlin's potty went down hill after the first princess. She did okay one day and got one more before we decided to take a break. She was the one to ask us if she could go in the big girl potty. After about 2 months she's now asked to be a baby again and wear diapers. So for now, we are following her lead. When the spring comes we'll try again. In the mean time she's loving her two little princesses.

Dominic has a very different fashion sense from Jon and I.
He's been doing this for days now.
Hat on sideways, pants rolled up regardless of weather.
Caitlin asked to sleep in her big girl bed. She's not climbing out of her crib and there isn't a baby coming to push her out, so we've just left her. But she asked so we said okay as long as she didn't keep getting up.
After about the fifth time of putting her back in the bed she was back in the crib.
Going out to skate board with big brother.
The air in our house is super dry. I've put a humidifier in Dominic's room. But he still gets the occasional nose bleed. Sometimes it's so bad that it looks as if someone died. Other times it's not so bad. Thankfully this was one of the mild times or I would have been cleaning some carpet.
