Spring

We've been busy this spring and I just haven't taken as many pictures as I normally do.
So here is some of the things we've been doing this spring.

I went up to run the trail run at Fall Creek Falls again this year. We had intended to camp that weekend, but a combo of Jon being out of town all week and constant rain until Sunday morning prompted us to just drive down the day of the race. I've written about my racing experience on my personal blog, but thought I'd throw in some pictures here of the rest of the family.

It was rather soggy still so the kids got muddy. Leila (my niece) was there and it was fun to play on the playground and cheer for the runners.

The kids ran a little ways with each of us (my cousin, dad, brother, and I) as we came close to the finish line. The pic below is of my brother.

I absolutely LOVE daffodils. So each spring I find a place that no one will notice if I steal some blooms and fill up a vase or two to keep in the house. I thought if I planted a ton it would work, but then I loved the view out my windows and so couldn't pick my own flowers. So Jon found a field, while out biking, that is not in view of anyone's home.

The kids had the entire program at church a couple of weeks ago. It was precious. They sang songs, had a skit for the children's story, and acted out the sermon.
Caitlin was the princess in the story of Moses.
Dominic was an Israelite in the story of the plagues of Egypt.

We went to Blue Coast the other night and Caitlin had her face painted. She asked the lady for a blue lady bug. This was a couple of weeks ago and we are still finding glitter around the house.

Spring fun

Today was gorgeous. It rained during the morning which cooled the temperature a bit and made for a beautiful afternoon. The kids played outside most of that time.
Dominic came running to get me because he'd found something in a tree.
This is what he found.

This is Caitlin's reaction to slugs.
Love this picture of Dominic.
The kids thought it was hot enough to play in their "pool". They begged us to fill the turtle with water. It was a bit chilly, but they had so much fun.

Park time

The weather has been so beautiful lately that we've spent most of it outside.
My poor little house has suffered, but rainy days are coming. It can hold on until then.

We went to the park the other day.

Monkey see, monkey do.
It works both ways.

These were taken while Jon was washing the car.
Not sure what has Caitlin so upset.
I love this picture of Dominic. It isn't really posed. He was sitting there messing with a bug and I called his name. The first picture is nice, but then I told him to smile. That part is definitely fake. =)

Friday

Friday was gorgeous weather.
We spent most of it outside playing.
I didn't get very much accomplished, but it was so worth it.

I brought out some lawn chairs so I could watch the kids playing in the front yard.
These chairs are super old and the back is starting to fall apart. So it makes it very scratchy.
I pulled the blanket out of the trunk. The kids wanted to copy me.
So they both ran into their rooms and returned with blankets from their beds.

Dominic is laughing because he's in my chair. I guess stealing Mom's chair is very funny.

It wasn't so funny when his own chair was stolen.
This picture was taken right before he noticed and started a fight with Caitlin.
When Jon got home we headed to Lowes to pick up some things.
The kids were so cute holding his hands.
What you can't see is that both of them are trying to swing, which is about to pull Jon's arms off.
He's an amazing dad!
I took this picture of Dominic because his face was so dirty you could see the tear tracks on his face.
He had gotten upset about something earlier and I noticed his dirty face.
Caitlin wanted her picture taken as well so posed and asked me to take one.

New camera

I am switching out winter clothing for spring clothing. So I had a large pile on the couch folding and sorting.
Caitlin found a swim suit and put it on over her clothes.

We got the new camera a couple of days ago.
The replacement for the lost one we found.
So now we have two cameras. I decided to try it out to see if I liked it as well as the old one.
Stopping to smell the "roses".

Dominic was running ahead of us.
These tulips trees didn't smell that great.
