Christmas Cookies

This year the church kids got together and made Christmas cookies for the Angel Tree party and some extra for the Women's Shelter. I wasn't sure how well Dominic would do at this activity, but thought we'd try.As you can see, he's really getting into it.
He was dumping a ton of sprinkles on each cookie and then we'd have a pile left over.

On his last cookie he let out a big sneeze and we decided that was the one he was going to eat. =)
He spent most of the time licking the frosting and sprinkles off the top of the cookie and eating the leftover sprinkles from his tinfoil. He never even finished the cookie, just licked all of the frosting off of it.Thank you so much Miss April and Miss Lynn for the fun time!

Putting up the tree

We usually put up the tree the week after we return from our Thanksgiving trip. Last year Dominic loved my wooden cranberries, so I wasn't surprised to see Caitlin having fun with them.Dominic enjoyed them, of course. He had to show Caitlin what to do with them. =)We found Caitlin behind the tree trying to eat the berries.Final tree picture. The bottom is completely bare because Caitlin kept pulling the berry strands and ornaments off. The ornaments in the middle are bunched together where Dominic hung them. The berries going up the middle? No clue. But the kids love it and that is what really counts.

Happy Birthday Caitlin!!!

Happy Birthday to a sweet little girl. Caitlin is one year old today.
We are having a little party tonight with Caitlin's birthday buddy. But I wanted to go a head and give her her gift and celebrate in some way today. She loved opening her gift. We got her a little cabbage patch preemie doll. She started giving it kisses as soon as I took it out of the package.Dominic, of course, had to get in on the action.

I had made banana bread muffins last night and so we spread some cool whip on it and stuck a candle in it.She wasn't sure what to do with the candle, but she devoured the muffin.Cool whip mustache.I'll post more pictures later, but I have this thing about getting a blog done on their actual birthday.

Thanksgiving

I promise this is my last Thanksgiving post. =) A couple of these pictures are the day before, but were too cute to leave out.Jon's parents got there on Wednesday during nap/quiet time. Dominic was more than willing to share his movie with Gramps.
I love this picture of Caitlin with her Grammy and Gramps. We have followed a Thanksgiving tradition for years now. We eat Thanksgiving lunch with my Uncle Bob and his family and then eat Thanksgiving supper with Jon's family.Very sorry to everyone who was caught with their mouths full. Didn't want to leave anyone out and since the food was so good there weren't many pictures with out full mouths. =)Caitlin had her own little chair.Thanksgiving with Jon's family.
Caitlin had her own special seat here as well. =) In this picture she's eating a cherry tomato.

Christmas at Thanksgiving

We always exchange gifts with Jon's family at Thanksgiving since we won't see them for Christmas. When we got there and Dominic saw the tree he said "It isn't Christmas yet. We are still having Thanksgiving!" He didn't seem too upset when we informed him that we were having a bit of Christmas early. =)
With Aunt KimPlaying with GrampsCaitlin got birthday presents too. She didn't unwrap presents last Christmas and yet she seemed to know just how to get that wrapping paper off to get what she wanted.I came up the stairs and saw that poor Gramps was being sat upon. He didn't seem to mind too bad. =)

More Thanksgiving Fun

We had so much fun Thanksgiving week. My cousin Greg is a fireman and had Dominic come to his station to take a tour. Dominic became shy while at the station, but couldn't stop talking about it later. We went to the Kid's Museum in Chattanooga on Friday. None of us wanted to brave the shopping crowds. It wasn't as crowded as we'd expected and we all had a ton of fun.Dominic was so "helpful" to this poor kid building an addition onto the house. Dominic would bring a piece and put it down and the kid would wait until Dominic wasn't looking to move the piece. We finally found a bike that was just Caitlin's size.If you pressed the button on these instruments they would all play a part of a song. Caitlin loved the music and was dancing in her stroller. So at one time we were all standing there with all of the buttons pushed so she could dance. Ah! The things one will do for a child.
Dominic, very seriously and professionally, checked me into the doctors office. When I looked at the paper he'd written down random letters that he knew. Very cute!

Calling for Help!!!

Caitlin has fallen in love with a little bear that a family member gave us. She won't sleep with out it and I'm hoping that someone can locate another one for me. Unfortunately the family member doesn't remember where they purchased it and we only have a few stores in our little town, none of which carry this bear. I remember the tag saying something about it being made of recycled plastic or bottles.
Caitlin loves her little bear and we would love to have a replacement in case we lose it.
