Field Trip

Found this in the drafts. More behind than I thought. This happened the week school got out.

Two days ago we headed out early in the morning to Amazin' Acres for one of the best field trips of the year.
The strawberries are probably what had it ranking so high. =)

Caitlin can always charm someone into holding her.
 Picking strawberries!
Dominic with his strawberries waiting to enjoy a hayride on the way back to the farm.
Caitlin adores that big brother of hers.
 Enjoying the barrel ride.
The ride is pulled by a four-wheeler. And let me tell you, the driver was one crazy lady. But the kids loved it.
 The tire swing.
Aren't these two precious?!
They were selling rabbits. Can you imagine the response when the kids heard that.
But I was able to resist that precious face, so we came home rabbit free.
 Enjoying the days "work".
A wonderful field trip that I hope we can repeat again next year.

Field Trip

This week Dominic's school went to Autumn Acres.
The teachers are gracious enough to allow younger siblings so we always join them.

This is Dominic's class getting ready to go through the corn maze.
Figuring out the clues in the maze.
Their favorite part - the bouncy pillow.
The coolest principle in the world.
 Picking out the pumpkins.
This is a really hard decision for baby girl.
 Austin and Caitlin
 I didn't even ask.
Caitlin waiting patiently for her barrel ride.
Finally - her ride is here.
Riding with Olivia
 Checking out the farm animals.
What a fun day!

Field Trip

Dominic is learning about authors and illustrators in school. So his class took a trip to the library to learn about how to find books and how the library works.
Then we walked to a local coffee shop that promotes artists of all kinds.
The children had read about a favorite illustrator who worked in a coffee shop.
So they drank their "coffee" while illustrating books they'd made.
It was precious.

Ms. Beth-Anne bought each of her students an iced hot chocolate.
So I got Caitlin one as well.
 Illustrating his book.
We had so much fun.
Thank you Ms. Beth-Anne.

Field Trip

On Monday Dominic had a field trip to the zoo. Caitlin and I came along for the ride.
The kids had so much fun and it was nice to spend some extra time with Dominic.
I miss him now that he's in school.

Caitlin was a bigger hit than I had anticipated. The zoo is huge so I brought her stroller. This little guy pushed her almost the entire time. His mom informed me that it was because of the wheels. Sure enough, he pushed the stroller even when she wasn't in it, making car noises the whole time.
It was precious!
 Caitlin getting a kiss! I won't print Jon's response. =)
This bamboo was a hit and great for taking pictures.
Man, I love this kid!
 Dominic's beautiful teacher.
She's wonderful and we thank God for her every day!
Most of the kids. A couple refused to cooperate.
Dominic with the elephants.
 Caitlin wore her lunch.
These birds would land on you and Dominic was a bit jumpy.
 Flips!
My sweet little girl!
 Dominic and a classmate.
We had so much fun that we are planning a trip back as a family very soon.

1st field trip

Dominic had his first field trip on Thursday. He was so excited. Caitlin and I went with him. The school doesn't have a bus yet some of us parents volunteer to drive and chaperon.

We went to Autumn Acres - a little farm about 20 minutes away.
First the kids listened to a presentation on farming.
Then we went through a corn maze looking for clues.
Ms. Beth-Anne is helping Dominic with his clue.
Our group chose one of the shorter mazes so we had some time to play while we waited on the other groups. Caitlin kept finding people to jump with her. Apparently Mom wasn't as good.
Next stop was the tractor ride out to the pumpkin field.
No idea what is going on with Caitlin's hair.
It was Mr. White's birthday so we all got cup cakes.
I think the favorite of the entire field trip was this barn filled with corn and toys.
It was also the worst. The kids are still (almost a week later) suffering from the allergies that all of the dust brought on. But I think they would say it was worth it.

These kids were filthy and tired - the signs of a good time.
